The sound is triggered by touch using silver plated conductive thread that is wrapped around plated textile threads connected to the touch sensor Thrill Craft and Bela Standard programmed beforehand through Pure Data. The inner circle measures 40cm in diameter is currently being made in a wood workshop. Extended out 80cm from the inner circle are the musical drawings/threads in space considering the scale of the human body. Frederica Vieira Campos will compose and play sections of music using hand gestures. Being free in 360 degrees movement to compose and play music we envision this to be installed and played in a space by visitors with no prior knowledge of playing the harp instrument. By exploring the energy fields in and around the human body so called chakras, Frederica Vieira Campos has for this prototype used the frequency of each chakra as a bass note and intuitively decided on a chord (harmony) for each colour.
